Terms of Service
Effective date: April 16, 2025
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using take25 — whether as an organizer or an attendee — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users of take25, including the website, mobile application, and any associated services.
The Service
take25 is a collaborative event photography platform. Event organizers create events, share QR codes with attendees, and curate a final photo gallery. Attendees scan a QR code to join an event and can capture and publish up to 25 photos each without creating an account.
Two Roles
Organizers
Organizers must sign in with a valid Google or Apple account. You are responsible for the events you create and for how you share and distribute the final gallery. By creating an event, you represent that you have the necessary authority to collect photos from event attendees.
Attendees
Attendees join events via QR code without creating an account. By participating, you agree that photos you choose to publish are shared with the event organizer and may be included in the final gallery. Unpublished photos never leave your device.
Your Content
You retain ownership of all photos you take and publish through take25. By publishing a photo to an event, you grant take25 a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and deliver that photo solely for the purpose of operating the service for that event.
You also grant the event organizer the right to include your published photos in the final event gallery and to share that gallery with other event participants.
You are responsible for the content you upload. Do not upload photos that are illegal, infringe on others' rights, or depict people without their consent.
Organizer Responsibilities
- •Obtain appropriate consent from event attendees before collecting their photos.
- •Comply with all applicable laws — including privacy laws — when collecting, publishing, and sharing the event gallery.
- •Choose the appropriate gallery visibility setting: a private roll limits access to participants who uploaded photos; a public roll is accessible to anyone with the QR code or link.
- •Not use the platform to collect photos at events where participants have not been made aware that photos will be gathered and shared.
Prohibited Conduct
You may not use take25 to:
- •Upload illegal content or content that violates any person's rights.
- •Harass, stalk, or harm other users.
- •Attempt to access data belonging to other events or users.
- •Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform or its infrastructure.
- •Use the service for any commercial purpose without our written consent.
Gallery Visibility
Organizers control who can view the final gallery. take25 is not responsible for the organizer's choice of visibility setting. When an organizer sets a gallery to “public,” anyone with the QR code or link can view it. If you are an attendee and have concerns about how your photos are being shared, contact the event organizer directly.
Intellectual Property
The take25 name, logo, and platform design are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce or use them without our written permission. These terms do not transfer any ownership of take25 intellectual property to you.
Disclaimers
take25 is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, that photos will be preserved indefinitely, or that the service will be error-free. Use the platform at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, take25 and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform — including but not limited to loss of photos, loss of data, or reputational harm. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Organizers may delete their account and events at any time. Upon deletion of an event, all associated photos are permanently removed from our servers.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email (for organizers) or a notice on the platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
